AWOL AGAIN - Obama keeps on playing Golf in Hawaii, oblivious to the thwarted terror attack

“People were just running, and they were scared,” said Veena Saigal, who turned from her seat on the Christmas Day flight and saw the fire’s glow six rows back. “They were running toward the center of the plane, running to get away from the flames.”

Jasper Schuringa, an Amsterdam resident, lunged toward the fire in Row 19, jumping from one side of the plane to the other and over several other passengers. He burned his fingers as he grabbed a piece of melting plastic held by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian man accused Saturday of trying to bring down the passenger jet with a homemade explosive device.

Schuringa, a video producer, restrained Abdulmutallab as others used blankets and fire extinguishers to douse the flames.

“When I saw the suspect, that he was getting on fire, I freaked, of course, and without any hesitation I just jumped over all the seats,” Schuringa told CNN on Saturday. “And I jumped to the suspect. I was thinking like, he’s trying to blow up the plane.”

The stretch of time from bafflement to abject fear to a calamity averted lasted just a few minutes on the flight, yet as they replayed those moments from their homes on Saturday, passengers described a drama that left many shaken long after the jetliner safely touched down.

“We heard a pop, then the smell and the reality kicked in for all of us. The reality was the fear in the flight attendants’ eyes,” said Charles Keepman, a Wisconsin businessman returning from Ethiopia, where he and his wife had adopted two children. “We’re just thankful to the Lord that we were spared.”

Janet Napolitano, the secretary of homeland security, praised the quick reactions of those on the plane, which recalled the heroism of passengers who had subdued so-called shoe-bomber Richard C. Reid as he tried to ignite chemicals on a flight in December 2001 and the actions of people on United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001.

“I am grateful to the passengers and crew aboard Northwest Flight 253 who reacted quickly and heroically to an incident that could have had tragic results,” Napolitano said in a statement Saturday.

The flight from Amsterdam to Detroit seemed long and uneventful until the final minutes, passengers said. Witnesses told the FBI that Abdulmutallab, 23, spent about 20 minutes in the bathroom before returning to Seat 19A and complaining of an upset stomach. He pulled a blanket over his head.

Then came the loud and sudden popping sound.

“What I heard was a firecracker, like a champagne bottle opening. I thought maybe something happened to a window or something hit the plane,” said Saigal, who was returning to Ann Arbor from India in Row 13. “Then I smelled the smoke. When I turned around, I could see the fire glow.”

Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab, the Flight 253 Nigerian terror suspect, has been released. Mutallab remains in custody, while being treated in a Detroit hospital for serious burn injuries and the FBI is questioning him. The terror suspect was on watch list and he smiled during arraignment, and claimed to have received training and instructions from al-Qaida operatives in Yemen.

Abdulmutallab is the son of a prominent Nigerian banker and had been a college student in Britain before moving to Dubai. He was charged Saturday with trying to destroy the Detroit-bound airliner Northwest Flight 253 flying from Amsterdam.

Farouks attempted suicide bombing comes just one month after his father warned U.S. officials of concerns about his sons religious beliefs.

Has anyone tried the Peak Performance golf swing by Don Trahan is so what are the cons and pros?

Is Don Trahran golf swing worth the effort in trying has anyone had good results with this type of swing beside his son.

I have used a swing that is very similar to the one that he advocates, due to breaking my back and neck years ago and having limited movement and not being able to make a full big turn in my golf swing. I learned mine from trial and error. After learning about his swing via the internet and clicking on his site for the ten videos and more than weekly tips that he sends, I can tell you, if your having trouble making a full complete back turn , then this swing could very well bring you the ability to still enjoy the game of golf. His son uses this form of swing out on the tour and he does just fine . he may not always win or place up there with the big name stars , but he does retain his PGA tour card and the pay check that comes with it.

In the golf swing, how can I get the golf club into a good position halfway back to the backswing?

I play golf with an in to out swing that has the golf club way behind halfway back, therefore resulting in the golf club across the line at the top of my backswing. What should I do?

Do as Rickie Fowler (one of the few true "feel" players on Tour) suggests in the May issue of Golf Magazine: get yourself into a good set up, then just turn your shoulders. Utilize the big core muscles, while the arms, hands and club just "go along for the ride", as Fowler puts it.

I will actually follow it closer now that he is out. I enjoy seeing the ‘rest of the pack’ playing.

I am 5′10 200 lbs. I do 45-75 mins of cardio (either on bike or tredmill) a day. Normally, jogging atleast 3 miles. I also walk the golf course 5 times a day carrying my clubs. I lift weights 6 days a week (alternating body parts everyday). I also eat 1500-2000 calories a day. How fast will I see results? I am slowly seeing results, but when will people notice?
